Big Cedar Fever

Austin 10K’r invites you to join us for a unique variety of fun running routes that will compliment your Cap10K training. The Central Library Run is a creative 3 to 6-mile route that travels through Butler Park before crossing over Lady Bird Lake on the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge. Connecting to the hike and bike trail the route travels over to the Shoal Creek tributary where the new Austin Central Public Library can be viewed nestled along the beautifully landscaped banks of the creek.

Jazz Concert: Pamela Hart

Join us at the library for an evening of Jazz with jazz vocalist, Pamela Hart. Pamela Hart is highly regarded as Austin’s finest jazz vocalist. Noted by Austin Woman magazine as “Austin’s First Lady of Jazz,” Pamela’s excellent pitch, clarity and soothing vocal quality have audiences raving. Asador Pig Roast

Asador will be celebrating their 1 year anniversary on Friday, February 1st with a backyard BBQ inspired pig roast in the courtyard of Las Perlas Mezcaleria. Service begins at 8p and will be accompanied with an all-night happy hour at the Las Perlas bar. Each plate includes pit-style suckling pork, beans, escabeche, masa Johnny cakes, and Mom’s famous pineapple rum cake. For those who’d like to supplement their pig plate with one of Asador’s tacos, they’ll be offering a limited menu along with dips. Las Perlas perks include; $5 draft margarita, $3 Carta Blanca, $6 sangrita shot, and more!

EPIC 2019 Happy Hour

EPIC (Emerging Professionals In Conservation) is hosting a happy hour on Friday, February 1 from 6-9pm at Austin’s downtown REI store (601 N Lamar Blvd). Beer/Wine/Snacks/Music will be provided. Come have a drink with us and learn about EPIC. Members and non-members are welcome, and the happy hour is free to attend. Bring friends! Bob Marley Birthday Bash! with Mau Mau Chaplains & Hail Marley!

Flamingo’s annual celebration of Bob Marley’s birthday is an Austin tradition. In honor of the late legend, The Mau Mau Chaplains and Hail Marley! join forces to perform all your Marley favorites. And Winston will be cooking up Jamaican food in the back. Come hungry and ready to dance! Shashamani Sound will be djing the night!

Prosciutto, Salami, & Cheese…oh my! A Cheese & Charcuterie Class

Join us, Charcuterie Lovers, for a night of cheese, charcuterie, and sundries. This is the perfect evening to learn more about charcuterie and cheese pairings. We will guide you through different styles of cheese (both pasteurized and unpasteurized) each paired with meat, accompanied by olives, nuts, and Easy Tiger bread. Note: Doors open at 3:45pm and the event starts at 4pm. You may choose to arrive early and separately purchase our wine or beer pairings from the Cheese Shop prior to the class the day of the event.

12th Annual Puppy Bowl

The big party before the big game is a football-themed, family-friendly tailgate which takes place on Saturday, February 2nd from 12 pm – 3 pm at the Austin Humane Society, 124 W Anderson Ln. This year’s tailgate will be jam-packed with delicious food, drinks, kid’s activities, and other vendors. Plus, our puppy players will again be on hand to make their prediction for Sunday’s big game as well as battle it out on the gridiron in the most adorable competition of the year – the MVP races!

Groundhog Day at Sekrit Theater x2

Hey, did you know Groundhog Day is Saturday, February 2nd? Come celebrate with us at Sekrit Theater! By the time we gather, everyone will already know if Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this year or not, but apparently he’s wrong 50% of the time so it doesn’t really matter. Get a double dose of Bill Murray’s dry wit in his classic comedy Groundhog Day. We will open the doors at 6:30PM, screen the film at both 7PM and AGAIN at 9PM. Between the screenings, we will attempt to show the footage from this year’s Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, PA.
